Accessory Items

Front Air Duct MX-5 NB/NBFL

Due to the high demand and our experience on the racetrack, we decided to build our own air ducts for the front of the MX-5. The air ducts are used to make the best possible use of the airflow and to flow precisely to the radiator and intercooler. For this purpose, we have scanned the front of the MX-5's 3D in order to produce a perfectly fitting air duct in OEM quality. Then the prototypes were 3D printed and adjusted again on the vehicle and possible errors corrected. So we can finally bring an absolutely flawless product onto the market. The air duct consists of 2 parts which are made of ABS plastic. In this way, the ducting can be easily adapted to modifications that do not come from our company. The lower part replaces the original front part of the air duct in the bumper and is attached to the original points. The upper part allows the air to flow upwards in order to use the full surface of the radiator. In our tests, we were able to reduce the water temperature by up to 25 ° C and the intake air temperature (for turbo and supercharger conversions) by up to 15 ° C. The product has been extensively tested in motorsport as well as on the road, which enabled us to improve its functionality even further. The ducting is suitable for all of our conversions sold by SPS Motorsport. Cutouts for piping for turbo conversions and supercharger conversions can be created through pre-shaped areas in order to be able to operate OEM cars as well as turbo and compressor conversions with one product and to keep all options for conversions open to you. So if a conversion is planned in the future, but you want to reduce your temperatures on the racetrack or while driving sportily on the street, this is your perfect product. For use in combination with power steering there might be modification necessary. The matching hood vents can be purchased under "add additional parts" so that the hot air can also be appropriately diverted from the engine compartment. CAUTION!
