Product information "Airbox Kit MX-5 NA for OEM engine"

After some development time we can finally offer you our own intake system for your MX-5 NA. The kit is based on the airbox from our turbo kits, which is now used for use in the natural aspirated area. The intake air then reaches the throttle body through a molded hose, which basically has the same course as the original intake hose.

Included in the kit are:

  • SPS Airbox Kit
  • Molded hose from air box to throttle body
  • Intake air temperature sensor including matching pins, matching connector and cable for connection
  • All required small parts (hose clamps, screws etc.)

ATTENTION! The use of a standalone ECU is essential here, as the original air mass meter is replaced with an intake air temperature sensor! Use with the OEM ECU is not possible! In case of mounting in an 1.6L NA, you´ll need to install a Reroute Kit as well, as otherwise the thermostat flange will collide with the intake hose.

The legendary AEM X-Series UEGO Wideband Lambda Display is an additional instrument for reading the Lambda / AFR value of combustion. It combines accuracy, speed and control with an easy-to-read, digital LED display and a LED needle that changes color as the AFR value changes from rich to lean. The display units from the AEM X series are characterized by a particularly large display and an extremely flat design. Thanks to the Bosch LSU 4.9 lambda sensor, the sensor values ​​are recorded extremely quickly and with great precision and displayed on the screen. In independent tests, the AEM 30-300 Lambda indicator has therefore already emerged several times as test winner.What is a wideband lambda sensor?AEM's UEGO wideband lambda displays are powerful, cost-effective tuning tools that allow users to accurately monitor the engine's air / fuel ratio (AFR).Why is a wideband lambda sensor / wideband display necessary?Accurate AFR data is very important when tuning an engine.
