Experience on the racetrack - SPS Motorsport Trackdays

Most sporty drivers sooner or later want to drive their car on the racetrack and get a taste of that racing feeling. But since most racing series are bound by regulations, which usually entail high costs for modifications to match the respective regulations, most people do not visit the racetrack. For several years now, we have been organizing open-brand track days on a wide variety of racetracks in Europe. So if you're looking for a way to drive your car on a racetrack without having to modify the whole car for a racing series, you've come to the right place!

The most important things should be mentioned first:
The track days do not serve as events for reaching top speeds or door-to-door battles with other drivers on the track. We organize the track days so that you can get to know the car better and better assess the limits on the road. Ultimately, most of the visitors come with their vehicle directly on the road without a trailer and want to come home the same way. Accordingly, reason should be in the foreground here, so that everyone comes home with a drivable car.

Let's briefly come to the rules and regulations for the driver and vehicle:

Driver:
The driver must have a class B driver's license (car) and be at least 18 years old. In addition, helmets are mandatory on the race track (motorcycle helmets / helmets from motorsport, no bicycle helmets). In addition, one passenger can be taken along; additional passengers are not allowed.

Vehicle:
The vehicle must be in perfect technical condition. However, a valid general inspection is not necessary here, which means that racing vehicles can also take part in our track days. The vehicle is not allowed to exceed the applicable volume limits for the respective race track. You can find information about this in the respective article on the trackday in our online shop.

The respective race tracks will be selected by us at the beginning of the year. Most of the time, these are relatively narrow and technical racetracks so that even participants with low vehicle performance can have fun. After all, who wants to be overtaken with his car on the racetrack all the time when you know for sure that you are faster in the corners?

The trackday includes the whole day on the racetrack including catering and coaching. At the beginning there is a short driver briefing in which the rules are explained again. Then it's off to the track. Everyone can take the breaks themselves in order to be able to talk to other drivers and the SPS team, to have nice conversations and, if necessary, to strengthen themselves for the next run on the track.

When registering for the respective track day in the online shop, the required data can be stored in the text field on the right-hand side under "further options". To successfully register for the trackday, we need the following data:

  • Vehicle brand and model
  • License plate number (if existing)
  • Full name of the driver

All further data and information will be announced later by email.

For those interested, this year's track days are linked in this blog under "related products". If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to post a comment on this blog or write us an email.
