Product information "SPS Motorsport High Power Turbokit 1.6L MX-5 NB"

All products, as well as the Turbokit offered here, are developed by SPS Motorsport on the racetrack, adapted to the road and constantly improved. We place utmost importance on the quality of the installed parts and their function.

 

Development
All turbo kits are configured and packed in our house. For which turbocharger you decide is yours. We use all products in our vehicles. All our race cars use components from our turbo kits, or complete kits.
It was important to us in the development of the turbo kits that on the one hand they meet the requirements of our customers, the power development and the optics in the engine compartment are as close to the production as possible. All Turbokits that we can distribute in our house registered and accepted.
We use the best components of the scene in our eyes.
The kit comes complete including matching basemap. The kit is not suitable for vehicles with air conditioning. For in house builds we offer special conversions for vehicles with air conditioning, where the piping is built directly on the vehicle. The downpipe fits directly onto the original exhaust system and is therefore directly equipped with the matching catalytic converter. 

TÜV certification
We have TÜV certificates available for the turbo kits so you can register your turbo conversion directly with your TÜV at your place. The certificate will be directly included in your scope of delivery. With this certificate your turbo conversion becomes completely legal in all EU-countries. The use of the Friedrich Motorsport Group A exhaust system as well as the SPS Motorsport 3 inch exhaust system was taken into account in all of the parts certificates below and is permitted. Foreign ECU´s can not be TÜV registered. The following constellations are going to be available with direct TÜV certificate:
Stage 1 Turbokit with standard intercooler


Upgrade
All of our turbo kits are designed to be easily upgradeable. Of course, we provide the necessary support with a corresponding upgrade and will gladly advise you.


Turbocharger

Stage 1 (OEM engine): 220-250hp

Stage 2 (Budget engine): 220-280hp

Stage 3 (Performance - Race engine): 220-330hp

 



Upgrade intercooler recommended from 1.3 bar boost pressure. The lowest power displayed is for a stock engine in good condition with additional components (for example a full exhaust system). The highest power displayed is in combination with our complete engines and additional components as well. 

 

When choosing the future power level, please note the maximum power and torque specifications for the respective gearbox:

 

  • 5 speed gearbox: max. 250hp & 300Nm
  • 6 speed gearbox: max. 320hp & 400Nm
  • BMW GS6-37BZ conversion: max. 500hp & 600Nm


Engine control unit
We recommend a MS3 Mini for a street use car with OEM ignition system or with modified ignition system, for a vehicle that is to be moved on the race track we recommend a Basic MS3. Aftermarket immobilizers remain in their function.
